ADVANCED JUNGLE BEACH HIKE

This is a loop trail which involves both jungle and beach hiking. Park your car at the restaurant at Rincon Beach or have a taxi take you there and start your hike on a well marked trail through a beautiful primary rain forest towards the San Pedrillo PN Corcovado Station. This portion of the trail is in very good shape normally and will bring you right to the national park border at the hotel casa corcovado. DO NOT ENTER the park if you dont have a prior reservation, but walk on the path to your right down to the beach. at the end of the beach you will go up the rain forest again and eventually go down again. be aware this part of the trail is not very well marked. you will come down a ridge again and walk along a rocky coastline to the rincon beach and eventually are back at the restaurant.

Starting right at Corcovado Backpackers this strenuous and adventures hike, will take you through both primary and secondary rain forest on an old abandoned trail, which is part of the Los Planes history. Let your local guide Evelio take you on this adventure and learn about its former and new inhabitants. Cross old abandoned farms where forest is regrowing, dive into a very virgin stretch of primary rain forest alongside the corcovado national park border where every tree towers the sky and finally chill and cool off in a hidden river pool inside the jungle before you end up at the rincon beach where you can have a drink at the restaurant overlooking the ocean and waiting for the taxi.

Duration : 6-8 hours
this is a 12 km hiking tour
Due to terrain and trail conditions, this is only recommended for avid hikers in good shape.
